Cancun was a blast. And that's an understatement. :) All the food we could eat, and boy did I eat my fills worth. Had ice cream with every meal just about, too. Not just any ice cream either, authentic helados. Plain old vanilla ice cream was sooooo creamy smooth and delicious. All the food down there tasted slightly off, but not in a bad way in the least. I even tried octopus. Wasn't too bad, but definitely not my favorite. Then there was one place we went to, it was a more formal dining establishment (right inside the resort) called MoMoNoHaNa. They were a Japanese restaurant and oh my word was the sushi excellent. As was everything else they had.
Sarah and I got to swim with dolphins, which was unlike anything I had ever done. It was incredible getting to sit on its back while it skyrocketed into the air almost 300 feet. We did somersaults and backflips and... okay, so we didn't really leave the water, but still.... :P The trainer had us put our heads under the water (we were wearing snorkels) and had the dolphin sing for us. Which was bizarre, as the sounds weren't what you would expect. I can't even really describe it to be honest.
I'm trying to upload some of our pictures, but it's not quite working. :( I'll have to do that later I suppose.
In other, non-vacation news, been putting out my resume to a couple of new places. Two of them are local schools looking for IT Specialists, and the other is the Fort Worth Zoo looking for a System Admin. Would be fun to work at either place. The money would be better than what I'm getting now, too. Although it would take away more of my free time that I'm already lacking anyways.
Sarah and I are moving into a bigger apartment at the end of this month, which also means higher rent (+$175/month). So I really could use one of those jobs. Actually, I need one of those jobs. As it is right now, I'm working at Arby's at $6.25/hour and spending the rest of my "free" time working on freelance projects. Had to turn a couple away just because I couldn't afford it time-wise. One of the projects I'm working on I hope might turn into a full-time gig, which would absolutely rock. Not only would I be able to actually get some work done on it, but I'd be able to work from home and Sarah could leave Arby's too. I've got my fingers crossed. We both do. If that doesn't pull through, I'll definitely need one of those other jobs (or one similar) which, like I said, will kill any free time, but at least it will pay the bills.
My dad and brothers are probably going to come down at the end of July. That'll be fun. I haven't seen them in almost 2 years. I bet they've grown up quite a bit. They're 11, 9, and 7 now. And little Peyton is going on 2 years old. Crazy. She'll be back home though when the boys visit. They'll spend about a week or so here.
Anywho, I'm out for the night. Like I said, I'll try to get some pictures uploaded in the next week or so.
Love to Sarah! <3
